After completing their studies, young graduates from all programs taught at l’X can be expected to pursue careers in all lines of business. In the case of graduates of the Ingénieur Polytechnicien Program, 47% of them join companies, 29% pursue PhD study, 15% go into the French Civil Service and 3% choose to become entrepreneurs. And as for graduates working at companies, 57% enjoy success in industry (44% in IT, 15% in energy and 10% in construction), 19% go into consultancy and 9% work in banking and insurance. 34% of graduates working at companies are based abroad, mainly in the United States and the United Kingdom. The majority (64%) of these business-oriented graduates are recruited before graduation and 100% of graduates working at companies are recruited in under 6 months.
Master’s graduates are also geared towards the corporate world with 45% of them opting for a career in business, while 42% go for the PhD option, 6% go into entrepreneurship and 3% choose to pursue other further studies. Nearly 60% of master's students are hired before graduating. The paths chosen by PhD graduates are higher education and research (38%), business (34%) and administration and education (12%), and another 13% land a post-doctoral contract. The gross annual salary is €59,500 for the first job of a graduate from the Ingénieur Polytechnicien Program, and €31,000 for a PhD graduate.
