Key facilities and resources: X-rays

X-ray techniques are vital in characterizing the structure and morphology of a material, which is why four laboratories from the École Polytechnique Research Center are conducting X-ray experiments in materials science. The laboratories in question are the Molecular Chemistry Laboratory (LCM), Irradiated Solids Laboratory (LSI), Laboratory of Physics of Interfaces and Thin Films (PICM) and Laboratory of Condensed Matter Physics (PMC). This wide range of equipment allows for on-site examination of structural evolution under experimental conditions that are relevant to the studied objects. Such specificities give research teams the means to take part in and organize national, European and international research consortia.
