Patrons: Hugues Lepic (Year of Entry: 1984)

An alum of École Polytechnique, which he entered in 1984, and now one of its major donors, Hugues Lepic wanted to honor his grandfather, Jean Marjoulet, who also studied at l’X (Year of Entry: 1919), by setting up a professorship in his name in 2010. Funded through Hugues Lepic’s generous contribution, every three years, the Jean Marjoulet Chair recruits a young professor-researcher under the age of 40, who has significant potential and teaches full-time at École Polytechnique in one of the institution’s areas of excellence.
