Ultrafast lasers for probing proteins

A team from the l’X Optics and Bioscience Laboratory is interested in the many tasks that proteins perform in living organisms. In particular, the team is exploring protein structure, which is intimately linked to a protein’s functions. To do this, the researchers use ultrafast lasers and a method called spectroscopy to reconstruct the protein film in slow motion as the protein changes over time.
