The "Finance and Sustainable Development" Chair was created in 2006 under the initiative of École Polytechnique, Paris-Dauphine University, EDF and the Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank (CIB). Following its extension for a further five years in 2017, the Chair’s research has been focused on three thematics: mean field games, economic choice in interactions and sustainable development/long-term risk, and commodity markets. The project has already made a number of scientific advances with a worldwide impact, and opened up new fields of research, for example, ecological rates. It has developed a flexible contracting method for the implementation of research programs, as is the case with the "Agriculture: Risks and Insurance" initiative.
