A mathematical model of species extinction

Researchers at the Center for Theoretical Physics and the Center for Applied Mathematics are collaborating on the mathematical modeling of population dynamics in order to understand how the number of individuals of different species in an ecosystem fluctuates over time. Their research is advancing our understanding of the world around us and could help face real-life challenges such as the management of fisheries, the conservation of protected areas or the control of so-called "harmful" animals.
