Located 15 km from Paris on the Plateau de Saclay, the École Polytechnique campus stretches over 164 hectares, including 120 hectares of green spaces. It features 1,500 student residences, a guest house, catering facilities, 15 lecture theaters and 50 classrooms. The campus also offers an extensive infrastructure for practicing a variety of sports, with 8,000 m² of indoor sports facilities, swimming pools, a dojo, gyms, climbing walls and a weapons room; and 8 hectares of outdoor sports facilities, with a horse-riding center, an artificial lake, soccer, rugby and tennis fields, and an athletics track. Life on campus is packed with events, including scientific symposia, shows, exhibitions, conferences, fairs and student parties. École Polytechnique also organizes the annual Science Fair and opens its doors to the public for the European Heritage Days.
